Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I do not have a location yet, can I still open a LILLIPODS?
Yes. You can explore potential locations together with our team, and we will guide you in identifying a suitable space that meets our school standards:
- At the minimum, we require the child-accessible space to be 3m2 per child (The local requirements always supersede our requirements, so in case it is more, you will follow the local regulation).
- The space can be an existing kindergarten, preschool or business that is renovated according to our LILLIPODS space concept. Or, it can be a newly built building.
- There are three types of LILLIPODS sizes: small ~450m2, medium ~800m2, large >1000m2.
Our space concept is easy to implement and can easily be implemented to to existing kindergartens, preschools and nurseries to allow them to be transformed to LILLIPODS centers.
What makes LILLIPODS Curriculum special?
The LILLIPODS Curriculum is a product of everything we have learned about implementing the Finnish education model during the past 10 years. The Curriculum is designed in a way that it can be implemented by global educators who have not been trained in Finland.
We have made playful learning method understandable and implementable. Too often we see the Finnish model not being implemented correctly. Educators need a teaching program that allows them to follow the key principles of the Finnish model, while still feeling comfortable in delivering the curriculum.
Our Curriculum is holistic, combining the learning of academic skills with the future 21st century skills like creative problem solving, communication and empathy. It’s built so that it can be implemented in inclusive education, providing the needed guidance for teachers.
The LILLIPODS Curriculum is also special as it allows you to offer a preschool program together with a customizable afternoon program. The afternoon’s Caretaking and Club program provides modular teaching content and play ideas – you decide how you wish to offer that to your families, providing flexibility to the program and cost structure. The afternoon program also allows you to offer localized teaching content easily.
